CIM National Excellence Award Winners

CIM National Excellence Award Winners

It’s been a good week at Mackman. Not only are we celebrating our 10th Anniversary this month, but we were awarded the Marketing Excellence Award in the Education Category at the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s (CIM) national awards ceremony. We were one of just 23 winners, selected from hundreds of entries, and accepted our award from comedian, Jimmy Carr.

We won the award after submitting the work we undertook on behalf of Harlow College. The integrated campaign was designed to raise awareness around the number one status at the College and began with two perception surveys with prospective students and parents of students. The results were used to inform some creative designs; developing new posters, video and a microsite, as well as a PR campaign.

Paul Mackman, director, said, “This has been the perfect start to our tenth year in business. We’re delighted as this project encapsulates the spirit of how our specialists work closely with clients to produce integrated campaigns that provide return on investment. Considering the scale and intense level of competition associated with the CIM awards, we’re glad to have done Sudbury proud.”

A targeted and strategic approach enabled our research, planning, communications, design and web development teams to create compelling campaign that achieved significant return on investment.

Simon Boyce, head of marketing at Harlow College, said, “Mackman’s comprehensive campaign delivered huge results for us. Winning the award verifies the standard of their work and passion for what they do. They worked closely with our in-house team and delivered a thoughtful campaign that produced a very positive response.”

Mackman are finalists in national awards

The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) has announced the finalists of its annual awards and we have cause to celebrate! From numerous entries across the country, we’ve made it into the final of the Education category.

We put forward an Awareness Campaign for Harlow College as an entry. The project involved our research, strategy, design, development and communications teams, aiming to increase awareness of the College’s number one status. Mackman Research conducted two perception surveys for the initial stages of the campaign with prospective students and parents. The campaign increased student enrollment by 19% (against a 10% target) and resulted in a ROMI of 1:20.9 over a year.

Paul Mackman, Director at Mackman, said: “These awards are the ultimate for our industry and as this piece of work involved every team, we very pleased with the achievement.”

The awards ceremony takes place at Grosvenor House Hotel in London, on the 12th February 2014.

Along with the likes of Sudbury Town Council, The Befriending Scheme and the River Stour Trust the team have received a Fairtrade Pledge Certificate.

The Certificate was presented by Rev. John Boardman, Chair of the Sudbury Towards Fairtrade organisation. He said "My wife Ann and I have supported Fairtrade for many years. Mackman Research work wins top prize at the Government Business Awards

Mackman researchers, Abi and Gemma, are delighted with the award

The annual Government Business Awards, which encourage and reward effective business practises in the public sector across the country, yesterday presented Mackman Research clients, Chelmsford Borough Council, with the top prize for Market Research. The award was won in recognition of the Council's Parks Audit which was carried out by Mackman Research in 2009. The winners were announced at Twickenham Stadium and presented by Bill Turnbull (BBC News).

In particular the research sought to discover why low income groups within the Borough are low users of public parks and gardens. Mackman devised the methodology, designed the questionnaire, collected the data, analysed the information and prepared and delivered the findings report. Our staff were out and about in Chelmsford not only in the parks, but directly targeting respondents at the Job Centre, the Benefits Office and via door-to-door interviews. The project was the first of its kind within the UK.

Officers from the Parks and Heritage Services, said: “The Mackman Group team had a professional, collaborative, ‘can do’ approach to the project and we were impressed with their flexibility and expertise. The final report was clear and in depth and a great piece of research.”

Gemma said: “The project was challenging but enjoyable and the fact that our research will assist the Council in encouraging more of Chelmsford’s residents to enjoy the wonderful parks that they have on their doorsteps made the project extremely worthwhile.”

Colchester Business Awards – Mackman's Mulitiple Success

On Friday night over 600 businesses gathered for the prestigious 2010 Colchester District Business Awards at Charter Hall. The Mackman Group attended along with a large number of our regional clients, all short-listed for a variety of awards. A pleasurable night was enjoyed by all and some also went home with a coveted award.

At Mackman Group we were very happy to see our Colchester clients Reeman Dansie awarded for “excellence in marketing”. This category win was particularly rewarding for the Mackman Group team as it was in recognition of all the marketing work undertaken on behalf of Reeman Dansie this year.

The Mackman Group was awarded the “business to business” category for the second time and our clients Training to Achieve also walked away with the “Education and Lifelong Learning” award.

Director Paul Mackman said “winning the business to business award is an achievement that all of our staff should be extremely proud of. Everyone in the team has pulled together more than ever to deliver outstanding work for clients and the business alike. This has directly resulted in the business continuing to grow through one of the most austere financial periods in recent times. I am really proud of our people and their achievements and this award publicly recognises all of their hard work.

I would also like to thank all of our clients for their continuing support and custom. We are fortunate to work for such pleasant, successful people and organisations. We received numerous messages of congratulations from clients following this award, testimony to our close working relationships.”

Mackman Group are Finalists in Colchester District Business Awards

We're very proud to announce that the Mackman Group has been nominated as finalists  for two categories of the Colchester District Business Awards: Business Innovation of the Year and in the  Business to Business (B2B) category. The award ceremony will take place at the Charter Hall, Colchester on Friday 26th November.

Mackman Group Director, Paul Mackman said, 'Mackman's Mighty Mailer was an obvious contender for the awards. It's an extremely powerful email marketing tool which can really save companies time and money. Unlike most other email marketing software, Mighty is highly personalised and offers companies the ability to create a campaign and then see it through from sending and tracking to the all-essential marketing follow-up and analysis. Its real strength lies in its comprehensive automation capabilities, its built-in capability in avoiding spam-trapping software and its unique survey creator feature. It's a great product which we're extremely proud of. We think it deserves to do well.'

Mackman's Business 2 Business award nomination reflects our collaborative approach with the companies we work with. We like to think of ourselves as a kind of bolt-on marketing/design/PR department which is accessible to our clients when they most need it. Putting customer service and value for money at the top of our list of objectives helps us understand our clients' most pertinent needs and enables us to work well in a Business 2 Business environment.

We've all got our fingers crossed for the 26th next month, and are proud to have got this far in the awards.
