HAVE YOUR SAY IN SHAPING THE FUTURE OF SOUTHEND-ON-SEA

Turnstone Estates secured planning permission in October 2020 to transform Southend's Seaway Car Park site and create a fantastic family leisure experience that everyone can enjoy all year round - whatever the weather! The developers are working hard to commence construction soon. The scheme will include a state-of-the-art 11-screen Empire Cinema complex with IMAX, a 20 lane Hollywood Bowl, other leisure and restaurant offerings, as well as an 80 room Travelodge hotel and 555 public car parking spaces, with a new public square.

Mackman Research, on behalf of the Seaway Leisure developers, is keen to hear the views and opinions of Southend's residents to gain an in-depth understanding of local leisure and dining trends to help determine what people want from the new leisure facility.

It is important that we gather feedback so that the project can meet the needs of its community and future customers in a post-Covid world.

How are we gathering public opinion?

Mackman Research invites you to take part in a short online survey, and as a thank you for taking part you can be entered into a prize draw to win a Covid safe family day out worth £250. We are also looking for people to participate in more in-depth focus groups, taking place from the 1st - 10th March. Each focus group will last an hour and a half and will be facilitated by our research director who will guide the group through a variety of discussion points. Each participant will be compensated £50 for their time and the focus groups will be conducted using a remote digital platform.

How will my answers be used?

The information we gather will be strictly anonymous and we will not attribute names to individual answers. Data will be analysed and used to fine-tune the types of leisure and food & beverage offers that local customers would wish to find at the Seaway Leisure site, enhancing the offer and plans.

Essex County Council - COVID-19 Business Research

Mackman Research was commissioned by Essex County Council to conduct an important business support survey during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. This project has since gone on to be selected as a finalist in the 'Best Data Collection – Interviewer Administered' category of the MRS Operations Awards 2021.
